Choose a file to convert. It's processed locally — never uploaded. Tip: add several files to convert them all at once.

Result appears here after you select
{ } How it works
PDF to Markdown works on the file you upload. Adjust the options, then select Process ▸ and it runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded to a server — then shows the result in the Output panel.
Inputs
- PDF file — upload a file (.pdf); it is read locally in your browser
- Pages (blank = all, e.g. 1-3,5) — a value
Output
MD text — copy or download it from the Output panel.
{ } Common uses
- Turn a PDF into Markdown for a wiki, README, or docs site.
- Get editable structured text out of a report or article.
- Feed clean Markdown into a notes app or static-site generator.
{ } Limitations
- Headings, lists, and paragraphs are inferred from font sizes and spacing — the structure is a best guess, not a guarantee.
- Tables, columns, and images are not reconstructed; you get a linear Markdown document.
- It needs real embedded text. A scan returns little or nothing until you have run OCR PDF over it.
{ } FAQ
Is my data uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser — your files never leave your device.
Can I process more than one file at once?
Yes — add several files and they’re all processed and downloaded together as a ZIP.
Is this tool free?
Yes — it’s completely free and needs no sign-up.
How are headings detected?
Lines rendered in a noticeably larger font than the body text become Markdown headings (#, ##, ###).
Why are multiple pages separated by ---?
Each page is converted independently and joined with a Markdown horizontal rule so you can see the page boundaries.
