{ } How it works
PDF to Text works on the file you upload. Adjust the options, then select Process ▸ and it runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded to a server — then shows the result in the Output panel.
Inputs
- PDF file — upload a file (.pdf); it is read locally in your browser
- Pages (blank = all, e.g. 1-3,5) — a value
Output
TXT text — copy or download it from the Output panel.
{ } Common uses
- Copy the text out of a PDF.
- Get a plain-text version for search, notes, or re-use.
{ } Limitations
- It extracts text that is genuinely stored in the PDF, so a scanned or image-only page returns little or nothing. Run OCR PDF over it first.
- Exact layout, columns, and spacing are not preserved; you get a linear text stream.
{ } FAQ
Is my data uploaded to a server?
No. Everything runs locally in your browser — your files never leave your device.
Can I process more than one file at once?
Yes — add several files and they’re all processed and downloaded together as a ZIP.
Is this tool free?
Yes — it’s completely free and needs no sign-up.
Why did I get little or no text?
The PDF is likely a scan (images of pages) with no embedded text. Run it through OCR PDF first, then extract the text.
