{ } Transparency and background

PNG can be transparent; PDF pages are not. On Fit to image the page is exactly the PNG’s size and transparent pixels show the viewer’s page colour, normally white. On A4, Letter or Legal the page is first filled with the background colour you pick, so transparent regions and the space around the image take that colour.

{ } Quality and size

The PNG is embedded losslessly — no re-compression — so screenshots stay pixel-exact. Because PNG data is large, a PDF made from many full-screen captures can be big; Compress PDF in Balanced mode will shrink it by converting pages to JPEG, at the cost of that pixel-exactness.

{ } Best for

  • Screenshots and UI captures, charts and diagrams, scanned line drawings — anything with sharp edges and flat colour.
  • For photos use JPG to PDF; for a mix of both formats, Images to PDF.

{ } Layout and formats

  • Page size, orientation, fit (keep proportions, stretch, or original size), margin in points and background colour work exactly as on JPG to PDF.
  • This page accepts .png only; a file that is not a PNG or JPEG is skipped.

PNG to PDF works on the files you upload. Adjust the options, then select Process ▸ and it runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded to a server — then shows the result in the Output panel.

Inputs

  • PNG images — add the files to process (.png); they are read locally in your browser
  • Page size — choose one — Fit to image, A4, Letter, Legal (default: Fit to image)
  • Orientation — choose one — Portrait, Landscape (default: Portrait)
  • Image fit — choose one — Fit (keep aspect), Stretch to fill, Original size (default: Fit (keep aspect))
  • Margin (points) — a value (default: "0")
  • Background color — a value (default: "#ffffff")

Output

A downloadable PDF file — use the Download button in the Output panel.
