  1. Add a PDF.
  2. Optionally enter ranges like "1-3,4-6" — leave blank to split every page into its own file.
  3. Process to download a ZIP of the resulting PDFs.

{ } How ranges work

  • Leave the field blank and every page becomes its own one-page PDF.
  • Type comma-separated ranges — 1-3,4-6,7 — and each range becomes one file, in the order written.
  • A range written backwards (6-4) keeps that reversed page order inside its file.
  • Page numbers outside the document, and anything that is not a number or a range, are ignored rather than causing an error; a range that matches nothing is dropped.
  • The same page may appear in several ranges — each part is built independently from the source.

{ } What the parts contain

Each part is a new PDF with the selected pages copied in, so text, fonts, images and page-level annotations are preserved exactly. The files are named part-01.pdf, part-02.pdf … inside split.zip. Bookmarks and document properties of the source are not carried into the parts.

{ } When to use Extract instead

If you want one new PDF holding a selection of pages — rather than several files — Extract PDF Pages produces a single download and skips the ZIP.

  • Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first (Unlock PDF).
  • The whole document and all parts are held in memory while the ZIP is built; a very large scan on a low-memory phone may fail where a desktop browser succeeds.

Split PDF works on the file you upload. Adjust the options, then select Process ▸ and it runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded to a server — then shows the result in the Output panel.

My range wasn’t recognized.

Use plain numbers and hyphens, e.g. 1-3,4-6. Pages are 1-based.

I got too many files.

Leave the ranges blank only when you want every page separately; otherwise specify ranges.
